April 25th, 2009 - A Blag for my Wobsite
Well, it's been a while since anything much has been done on this project. It looks like I never actually committed some of my latest changes to SVN, which means that Nuke never got them and what I thought he had to look over was just his old fugly code. I went ahead and committed the changes, and have been working on remembering what I was working on figuring out before I stopped doing stuff with this project.
I managed to remember what that was--I was trying to figure out what was causing the game to slow down when I had multiple ships selected, but did not seem to happen on Nuke's computer. I do know, however, that the issue happened on mine both before and after the significant changes which I may or may not have forgotten to commit before this recent long absence, so those changes weren't responsible for the problem.
I had done quite a bunch of work trying to isolate the problem, but the best I could figure out last time was that the problem was somewhere in the HUD (GUI) drawing script.
As for the immediate future, since I really can't predict how much time I'll have to devote to this, I've uploaded a new zip file to the site containing a "more current" version of the mod, using the new metadata system. In other words, I just made a zip from my mod directory and removed certain files that I didn't need or want in it. As before, this requires that you use the player file provided. Instructions for where to put this file after decompressing the archive are provided in the original thread.
